How far along?   35weeks

How big is baby? The baby is about 18 inches long from head to toe and weighs about 5.2 pounds.

Gender? GIRL!!

Total Weight Gain? I am up 3 pound from last week so 32 pounds all together so far. I think it was from all the cake from my baby's baby shower, this week I will be better!

Maternity Clothes? Yes to both tops and bottoms.

Symptoms? I'm starting to have some really weird dreams.

Food Cravings? Nothing in particular. I haven't really craved anything.

Food Aversions? There is nothing that has been unappealing.

What I miss? Being at home with my hunny and having him feel baby when ever she moves.

Sleep? Every night it is a little different sometimes I don't wake up at all and then other times I have to wake up and adjust because I get a little sore.

Movement?  Lots of movements, I love it so much!

Stretch marks? Oh yes there are plenty. Just on the sides and under my boobs.

Belly button? Still an inny but the top part of it is kind of hard so sometimes you can see that through my shirt.

Milestones? Making it to 35 week! 5 more weeks to go.

Best moment of the week? Having our Maternity photo shoot and our baby's baby shower. Also just feeling baby move is just fantastic, I'm so looking forward to holding her.


What I am looking forward to? Moving back home before next thursday! Also we have our third baby class on saturday.

Pregnancy moments with Matt:  We got to see each other Monday night when we went out for Rachel's birthday. At the dinner table Matt was touching my belly and feeling baby move, you could tell that he was really happy, I wish he didn't have to miss so much of baby since the renos are still going on.

Baby Shower

So Sunday afternoon I had my baby's baby shower, I thought I would share some pictures of the day.

This is the cake that my mom made, Rachel found a picture online of a cake like this and thought it would make a great baby shower cake (which it totally did i love it) and asked my mom if she could make it. My poor mom stayed up all Saturday night finishing things up for the baby shower for Sunday like decorating the cake because she didn't want me to see any of it since I am still living at their house while mine gets renovations finished up.

Here are some of the decorations, the little flower pot pink boots is definitely going to be going in our baby's room. My chair that I got to sit in for the baby shower, which is also going to be going in the baby's room as it is a rocker and glider chair it is so comfy.

One of the games and name tags (there are a lot of name tags because not everyone RSVP so my mom made a bunch for people that she thought might come but not all of them did). Here is the drink station.

The wreath that Rachel made, I think everyone liked this they had fun trying to figure out how it went for my belly size. The other picture is the game called "my water broke" you have to try and melt your ice cube and inside the ice cube there was a little plastic pacifier. So when it melted you had to call out "my water broke". I had never heard of that game before but it was lots of fun!

Here is some of the food and beside that is the lovely Rachel who planned and organized all the games.

Here is me opening gifts, there was a lot to open. Thank you everyone! This is a diaper cake and my sister in-law made for me.

My brother brought down the cake for the party, such a good idea this cake, it was really heavy though, that's why my brother brought it down.

Here are my helpers to open the gifts towards the end I think they were getting impatient that there were still so many gifts to open.

This is the wrist corsage that my mom made me for my baby's baby shower and this is a close up of the name tags that she made.

This is what I did on Monday, opened up all the gifts and put them in a pile, I was too tired to really organize them but I did organize it better last night. Our baby girl got so spoiled! I am looking forward to getting all of this in her room and put away.

A huge thank you to Rachel for putting my baby shower together, getting all the games organized, bringing food and decorations! Thanks to my mom for opening her home for this get together, providing food, cake and decorations too! Love you both so much!

Weekend Recap

Friday

Today after work I went and picked up my best friend that I have know for forever. She is from Winnipeg where I used to live, so I don't get to see her much anymore because we don't live in the same city. But she had come out today because she couldn't come for my baby's baby shower on Sunday because no one was able to take her shift at work for her.
We went out to dinner just the two of us which was so nice, it was so good to catch up. Her and her mom spoiled my baby girl. She brought us a huge bag full of baby items, tons of clothes, blankets, toys, feeding things, there was such a wide variety of things in there it was crazy!
After dinner I drove her back to her hotel and then I headed over to my house since it was close to where I was so I could visit Matt for a little bit. I couldn't stay too long because I have to get up early tomorrow, we have our Maternity photo shoot in the morning! So excited!

Saturday

This morning I woke up nice and early and started to get ready for our maternity photo shoot, it was a good thing I showered the night before because I know my hair and it was still pretty wet in the morning. I didn't want to take a shower in the morning and have to blow dry my hair for 30 minutes to try and get it dry, yet it was still a bit wet over night. That is at least easier to dry the just after showering.
Anyways so I used two sets of hot rollers to curl my hair. Yes two full sets, I don't know how I was able to fit them all on my head but I did. After all of this I had plenty of time to eat and finish getting ready. Our photo shoot wasn't until 10:30am and I was up four hours before that so I had lots of time to get all ready.
We met up at Fish Creek Park to take the pictures. It was such a nice morning, it was warm and the sun was beautiful. At 12pm we wrapped it up and the photos were done, I like taking pictures while Matt he was a troop and stuck it out. He doesn't like taking so many pictures but I am glad he got through it with out getting grumpy.
After this we went to a funeral service for one of the sisters at church from a different congregation then us. She unfortunately lots the battle to ovarian cancer. It was a really nice service and a great turn out, lots of people were touched by her in someway in their lives.

Sunday

Today was service in the morning and then we left fairly quickly because this afternoon is my baby's baby shower! So I got back to my parents house quickly changed and then my dad and I started making the sandwiches. It was a little hectic getting things ready but it all worked out in the end.
It was a really great baby shower, Rachel hosted it and planned the games which were really fun. We played "my water broke", guess how many baby pins are in the baby food jar, guess what is in the bags and guess what traits I would hope that our baby has from both of us (so things like who's hair, eyes, nose things like that). It was all so creative!
There was a lot of people that came which was very wonderful and unexpected. I only knew the people that had RSVP to us but there were many more that came that hadn't RSVP. It was a very crowed house for a while, but I couldn't be happier with how many people support Matt and I with having our new little baby on the way, it really makes you feel loved.
Our baby girl really got spoiled from this baby shower, its going to take me a long time to go through everything again.

Monday

Well Monday is in this too because it is a long weekend, yay Family Day. Unfortunately I didn't spend it with Matt since I am still living at my parent's house and he is still working on renos. Hopefully by the end of this week I can be moving back in to my home since our carpet is getting installed tomorrow!!!
So today I had gone through all the gifts from the baby shower, I took them all out of the bags and piled them up, I have to go through and actually organize it better but I'm glad I got to look through it all again because at the baby shower things were just going so fast.

This evening we went out for dinner to celebrate Rachel's Birthday! YAY HAPPY BIRTHDAY RACHEL! We went to Joey's, it was delicious! Matt and I got her some Tupperware because that is what she wanted, I know that she will use it all!

Gender? GIRL!!

Total Weight Gain? I am up 2 pound from last week so 29 pounds all together so far.

Maternity Clothes? Yes to both tops and bottoms.

Symptoms? I'm not sure if its just me or if my ankles are getting a little swollen at the end of the day, I thought they were a little bigger yesterday.

Food Cravings? Nothing in particular. I haven't really craved anything.

Food Aversions? There is nothing that has been unappealing.

What I miss? Being at home. Yup I am still at my parent's home but good news is that the carpet has arrived to Lowe's so we should be getting it installed next week as long as they call Matt tomorrow and set up a time.
Sleep? This week has been pretty good, I have had a few later nights though so I need to change that tonight, I think I will go to bed early just to catch up a bit.

Movement?  Lots of movements, I feel pokier body parts when she moves if that makes any sense.

Stretch marks? Oh yes there are plenty. Just on the sides and under my boobs.

Belly button? Still an inny but the top part of it is kind of hard so sometimes you can see that through my shirt.

Milestones? Making it to 34 week! I truly think that making it that much further every week is just amazing.

Best moment of the week? Having my doctor's appointment and her letting me know that baby is in a head down position! Yay baby!


What I am looking forward to? Our maternity photos this weekend on Saturday and then my baby's baby shower on Sunday! Also it is Rachel's birthday on Monday and we are going to go to the zoo!

Pregnancy moments with Matt:  Well Matt is kind of funny because one moment he will say "I'm getting really nervous I'm not sure how we are going to do this." Then the next moment he says "I can't wait to meet our baby girl, I'm so excited!" He is going to be such a good dad!

How big is baby? The baby is about 17 inches long from head to toe and weighs about 4.2 pounds.

Total Weight Gain? I am up 2 pound from last week so 27 pounds all together so far.

Maternity Clothes? Yes to both tops and bottoms.

Symptoms? Still the sore upper back in the evenings and my skin on my tummy is itchy.

Food Cravings? Nothing in particular. I haven't really craved anything.

Food Aversions? There is nothing that has been unappealing.

What I miss? Being at home. Still at my parents house this week. I will be here for probably 1 more week I think. This weekend Matt and my dad will be painting the rest of the baseboards and my dad will be building the inside of the baby's closet. Oh well once the carpet gets installed then I will be able to be moved in again I'm hoping it will come in sooner then they said.

Sleep? This week has been awesome, I have not woken up in the middle of the night. If I did though I don't remember it.

Movement? Oh my baby is a mover and a shaker! She loves moving around and I love feeling her move around!

Best moment of the week? Feeling my baby move so much. I sometimes think that she is going to hurt herself in there, she makes such big movements.


What I am looking forward to? Getting our house back to normal, I really hope the carpet comes in early and we can get it installed before the baby shower. Wishful thinking!

Pregnancy moments with Matt:  We had our first birth and baby class on Saturday, Matt was really considering on not staying when they showed the video of a birthing story. He didn't want to see it but no other guys got up to leave so he stayed. He told me that he is not looking forward to the transitional stage where I don't know what I want anymore.

Renovation Wednesday

                                

 So more Renos have happened which is super exciting because then soon I will be able to move home again! Here is what happened over the weekend. Starting on Friday my dad came over to my house and him and Matt got the walls in all the bedrooms ready with putty to fix all the imperfections that the walls had. Which there was a lot of as you will be able to tell in the photos below. Saturday they got the first coat of paint on the ceiling and did more sanding and mudding on the walls. Sunday was the same thing, second coat on the ceiling and more work on the walls. Then Monday and Tuesday was painting the walls days. The new paint color I thought was going to be way too light, but it just brightens up the rooms and makes them feel bigger. I'm hoping that this coming weekend baseboards will be all bought and varnished, maybe even installed? That would be great!



Here is what the baby's room looked like before, well all patched up but it had a really dark purple on the walls which made it feel very small.

Total Weight Gain? I am up 1 pound from last week so 25 pounds all together so far.
Maternity Clothes? Yes to both tops and bottoms.

Symptoms? Still the sore upper back in the evenings and my skin on my tummy is itchy.

This weekend Matt and my dad will be painting the ceilings in the rooms which is oil based so again I can't be around that. Oh well once the carpet gets installed then I will be able to be moved in again.

Sleep? Well I have started the waking up in the middle of the night. However all I have to do is just move out of the position I was in and then move back and then I fall asleep right away again. So really I can not complain at all.

Movement? Oh my baby is a mover and a shaker! She loves moving around and I love feeling her move around!

Milestones? Making it to 32 weeks! I can't believe 8 months pregnant already!

Best moment of the week? Finding out that I am going to get 4 diaper boxes full of baby clothes from one of my patient's daughter's daughter. Yay so excited.


What I am looking forward to? Going to our first baby class on Saturday!

Pregnancy moments with Matt:  I had stopped in at home to pick up some more things to bring to mom and dad's and Matt was loving my belly. I am so happy that he is so excited!

Regular shirts are getting short!

Renovation Wednesday

               

 Our office in the basement has had so much progress completed! The walls are up they have been mudded and primed, and painted. Not only are the walls done but the ceiling is up and the floor is leveled. Matt still has to finish up the electrical but we are getting so close! The baseboards for in there are all varnished and ready to get installed. I can't wait till this is done and we can move things into the new room. Also I am looking forward to the upstairs to be done as well. I would really like to get started on the baby's room.
